ESLP Vision and Action Plan

Spring 2010

Kelly (Luna) Suniga

Personal Quote: "Just take a deep breath!"

I. Personal Vision

My vision is for the people of the world to open their perspectives to earth-based ones so that we can return to being in tune with the planet we call home. As this happens more humanity will be able to take action towards being a part of the earth's cycles versus going against it or being blind of being a part of it.

II. Personal Mission

My mission is to take my weaknesses from Fall 2009 and turn them into strengths during this quarter as I work with other ESLP organizers, the UCSC community and speakers for the lecture series. I plan to be a strong representative of ESLP and it's mission in my day to day life by educating others about our organization so that it can continue and grow. I will also add to the infrastructure of the organization as I have my own experiences.

III. Mission Statement of ESLP

Education for Sustainable Living Program: The Education for Sustainable Living Program (ESLP) is a student-initiated, collaborative interdisciplinary effort to realize sustainable community throughout the University of California. Students participate in a weekly speaker series and form Action Research Teams (ARTs) in partnership with guest lecturers, faculty, administration, and community members to implement tangible change. Such experiential learning inspires participants to internalize the concept of sustainability, and carry it in practice beyond academia into greater society.
